Surprise

For several years I have planted forget-me-nots on my darling boy's grave, but next year they have not come back. 
I have sown seeds with the flower as well, without a measly flower that appeared. 
Last summer I threw out a whole bag of forget-me-not seeds on the grave without doing more. 
This year, forget-me-nots have appeared. But not on the grave itself, but outside the barrier that marks the grave. 
Life is full of surprises.
