Wednesday: Cheerful Flowers

Urgent gardening job this morning was to clean “the Posh Birdbath” and fill it with fresh clean water, the birds were there as soon as I’d finished :-)

All of my pots of plants were dry too, they got a good soaking and will hopefully be ok until the rain arrives at the weekend :-) 
The female Blackbird is still finding and eating berries on the Mahonia, it’s a miracle that there are any when we’ve had so little rain -

The deep bed behind the greenhouse has a few raspberry canes in flower and lots of red campion and other self-seeded plants, compost is bone dry so they were easy enough to pull out - green bin gets emptied this week.

Purple Salsify
Red Crinodendron
And 2 Calendula 

Cousin Idris and my daughter had a long and rather uncomfortably warm journey home but arrived safe and sound and will feel much better after a good long rest, it was lovely enjoying their company for a few days xxx
