Things change

Howells Dept store was iconic to Cardiff City Centre. It was established in 1867 by James Howell but  a few years ago it closed. The site is about to be redeveloped, while retaining the Grade II listed buildings, but at the moment looks rather empty, sad and dejected. Whether you find the building attractive depends on your taste for Victorian architecture. This is a view looking up from St Mary St at the small gap between two of the five buildings that used to comprise the store.
Many thanks to Bob for hosting this week’s Wide Wednesday theme of architecture”.
