Another visit to Portsmouth Historic Docks..

...to meet a friend before my season ticket runs out. 
The Victory is undergoing a programme of  extensive tlc, budget £40m, to preserve it for future generations.
The extra is in the Mary Rose exhibition.  An animated Henry VIII is telling us he's out to see off the French. I always feel sad to be reminded that one of the reasons the death rate was so high (over 450) was that nets had been stretched across to keep out invaders, but when the ship sank sailors could not escape.
