Head scratcher at work today
Emergency sudden line across vision albeit three weeks ago with no let up. White coat syndrome so patient petrified me too because the triage sounded like a retinal detachment.
Thankfully not but a strange one. One eye only, haze in the stromal of the cornea in one eye like a perfect D on its side. Eye white. No epithelial defect and only in one eye!?!?
Can’t be a dystrophy
No trauma
No other symptoms other than blurry vision


Knew it wasn’t right but didn’t know what it was.offered a referral but minimum three months as non sight threatening.
Offered her private £250, ok well do that

Unless I covertly text the guy I would otherwise refer to. Top corneal guy in Edinburgh.
Came up trumps, Post Trauma Corneal Stress.
Never seen that before
Manage in practice with lubricants and steroids and should be fine in a month

Every days a school day and handy tk be old enough to have these guys on tap.
