It's that bird again.
Anyone who reads my journal will realise that birds are a big driving force in my life. I haven't done many bird shots recently (there haven't been many birds it is quite worrying). So I couldn't resist this fella, the same male as yesterday. Just in front of his nest site (3 or 4 m) is a large variegated Holly. He was posing at the very top lord of all he surveyed.
Obviously it hasn't been possible to see the chicks in the nest. They have now fledged. We counted 8 Starlings in the garden so even assuming two were the parents they have had 6 chicks. As the UK population is down by 54% between 1995 and 2022 they will be a welcome addition to the population.
