Relay

Rather than the usual 60 minutes running round the local woods tonight I signed up for a clubs relay, organised by one of the other local clubs. Around 500 runners; 160 batons, complete with timing chips; and about 25 different running clubs all met up in a local park and, on the dot of 1930, set off on a 3 x 2.6 mile lap course.

My club didn't win, we are much less competitive than some of the other local ones, but we had 20 people there of all ages and abilities and everyone had a fun evening. Only one person was sick and only one person, not the same one, was hurt.

I'm not sure why the fire brigade turned up at the end.
