Life in Canada

E-Man

Meet Ethan.  He is Derrick's best friend (only because their parents are both Nigerian, sons have ASD, non-verbal, have sickle cell anemia, and they live on the same block! Oh, and they are the same age.). Unlike D, E does not use his communication device effectively. E was the first student I met on our first day at this school.  He screamed almost non-stop. Poor little guy. It must have been terrifying for him.

Fast forward to today...he has adjusted to his daily routine. I am lucky to ride the bus with him (and two others with ASD) every morning, and many afternoons. He is a real sweetheart and a very cheeky monkey at times! I adore how mischievous he can be.  Whenever he sees me during the day, he insists that I must walk with him (I think he believes I will take him home ;) ).

It was a rainy, cold day so we were inside for afternoon.  Always difficult for my kiddos.

I hope you had sunshine wherever you are!
