Caen Hill

Looks like a flight of hurdles but in fact is a flight of canal locks. Fifteen, I think. So impressive to think of the engineering involved, the very idea of getting a canal up a hill like this! Very happy to be walking and not in a narrow boat, but all the people we met seemed happy to take this challenge on.
A lovely walk; sunshine, lots of bird life and plentiful snack stops. I have abandoned all pretence of healthy eating but will, of course, as always, reform - tomorrow.
