Umeå East Station

Today started with a quick walk to the bird watching tower on the edge of one of the nature reserves. We spent the night, in Harry the camper van, on the car park for this nature reserve. It was a quick walk because we only had 40 minutes before we had to head into town for the hospital.
So, into Umeå to the impressive hospital, for a minor procedure that Jan has blipped. I dropped her off and then drove off to find a parking place, which I did outside the Umeå Östra station. I walked through the station, back to the hospital and joined Jan in waiting room D2. When she was done we returned through the station to the camper van.
The blip is taken from the station, looking down onto the two platforms. The station is modern, completed in 2010.  The walls are largely made of glass and the structure is built of laminated timber. In my picture you get a bit of both.
Once Jan was done we headed homeward, with a stop for lunch (Nordmaling) and at the outdoor equipment outlet shop in Örnsköldsvik. We both found some good footwear at reasonable prices, which may be used on our autumn South Downs walk, and will certainly be used in our local forests. (There were other items at far from reasonable prices - a pair of hillwalking trousers originally costing £500, now available at £350!)
Now I'm home and can relax and I'm allowing myself to feel really tired. Hope you've all had a good day - Goodnight folks!
