On Tuesday it was World Bee Day and a reminder of how important bees are with 75% of main fruit and vegetable crops being pollinated by bees.  Worldwide they have become endangered largely due to Intensive farming practices, land-use change, mono-cropping and  pesticides.  Our ecosystem depends on bees so it is essential to do all we can to help, including planting flowers with easily accessible nectar and they prefer purple and blue shades with red or white flowers being less popular.
