Christchurch Cathedral

Restoration from the 2011 earthquake is very slow. A trip around central Chch. has shown lots of new buildings, still some deconstruction to be done. What is pleasing is that a few of the old stone buildings are being reconstructed using the original stones. ChCh. is my birthplace and as a young teenager I push biked all over the city enjoying the gardens and the old stone buildings, Sometimes I would make it to the Hud of the city, the square where the cathedral stood. This was the heart of the city where there were always hundreds of people going about the daily activities, an exciting place to rest and watch the world pass by. Now sadly I have to say that it is no more than a ghost of its pass, with old buildings waiting for decisions to be made about their future and only a couple of people like me having a moment from the pass
