Broken Reflections

Wednesday. Cold and quite cloudy to begin with, and frequent light showers of rain through the day. Gubs has a major exam this afternoon—the first of two A-level Film Studies papers. He hopes to study Filmmaking in Manchester later in the year, so he’s putting a lot of pressure on himself to do well in this one, poor thing. I spent most of the morning walking the country lanes near Coldred, then settling in for an afternoon of editing and writing: for me, this is more fun than it sounds. Gabriel got home around six in the evening; he did not think his paper had gone very well, so big hugs and dad jokes were in order. Raff and I cooked a one-pot Greek-style lamb stew with feta and mint, a Gousto recipe that was predictably delicious—we haven’t had a bad one yet.
