Survey day…..
showing Castle Roy and Abernethy kirk with the Cairngorms in the background on a glorious day, hot and sunny and hard walking!! Flies, wasps, bees, dragonflies, damselflies, butterflies and birds all appeared, but no beetles! It’s all very interesting though! Afterwards went and sat at Loch Milton to cool down and was joined by ducks, ducklings, geese, little grebe, moorhens, herons, blue and large red damselflies. What a racket from the heronry as the adults brought in food, beak rattling and squawking! Sitting in the garden now watching the Woodpecker on the Birch. Rain is forecast for tomorrow, but still hot and sunny! Woodpecker now on bird feeder, looking smart.
