Today's the day ..................... for something exotic

Usually if I'm outside gardening and it starts to rain, I would pack up and come inside.  It happened this afternoon - just a very soft, light rain - but because it has been SO long since we've had any sort of precipitation here, it was actually a bit of a treat to be out in it.

It has been such a wonderful spell of warm sunny weather which has got everything, including me, off to a flying start for the year.  There are masses of flowers on the kiwi vine, that must be wondering if it has somehow changed continent.  Perhaps it might even consider giving us an actual kiwi fruit as a celebration?!

One of the great things about living in the UK, is that every year is different and should be celebrated for whatever good things that it brings.  Here's one of the gorgeous irises that have brought a taste of the exotic to the pond .......................
