Liver Bird
Today our village Social Club took a coach trip to Liverpool. I had never been before so I did a bit of research. I discovered that the Anglican Cathedral (Extra) was the largest in Britain and 5th in the world. Although it was slightly out of the city centre I felt determined to see it and possibly also the newer, Metropolitan Catholic cathedral.
Well, we walked from the Albert docks, through the shopping centre and made our way up to the cathedral. My knee was feeling the strain of it, but in a church there's always a seat to sit on and relax while you take in the peace of the place, right? Wrong!
When we got in we were met and told there was a memorial service on and entry into the main part wasn't allowed and no photography at all was allowed. Not a single seat available! All being used. I could have cried! Even the cafe had closed at 1pm.
I was just not fit enough to walk from there to the Metropolitan
We wandered back through the shops towards the docks calling in a couple of shops for me to buy a pair of shorts. Neither of us got our proper cameras out of the bag.
Must make another visit, on our own and spend more time exploring.
