Garden Jay
After 10 days away, the garden has changed beyond belief with literally everything burgeoning. Its really filled out and with geums, lupins, astratia, foxgloves, snapdragons, nigella and ox-eye daisies flowering, you don't notice that the aquilegia, bluebells and forget-me-nots have all gone over and need tidying away.
We spent all day in the garden weeding, cutting back and planting out a few annuals in the gaps left by the forget-me-nots. It was a rush to get it all finished before the end of the day as rain is on its way, which hopefully will give everyone's garden a well-needed soaking.
This morning, the starlings were out in force squabbling over the fat blocks, but it was the Jays that caught my eye, popping down quite early in the morning for a drink and on the search for food. I think that they are missing the peanuts that I usually put out in the winter. Hopefully they have eggs and/or chicks which they will bring to our garden later in the summer.
I'm still struggling to get back on track with commenting, so forgive me if I just sprinkle stars and hearts for the time being. I'll try harder, but my time is very limited at the moment I'm afraid..
