Sad to hear about the death of Brazilian photographer Sebastiao Salgado, who photographed natural beauty in desolate and wild landscapes, as well as indigenous cultures, human conflict and atrocities, and in general our modern world with great compassion.
His legacy is also a reminder of the possibility of environmental action. He and his wife restored enormous swaths of eroded land in Brazil with new forests.
