Cherub In Refurb, Methodist Church, Maidstone

Just another quick trip into Maidstone today.  We walk past this Methodist church nearly every time we go into town. It's been closed since June last year for refurbishment and redevelopment and so the gates in front of it are, of course, locked. Luckily, for the first time I spotted a side gate that was open and so I managed to get closer to the front of the building itself and that's when I took this shot. I really liked how this cherub fountain looked like a phoenix rising above all the discarded detritus. Also, the line of the building sat perfectly above the fountain bowl so it gave the impression of a large candle pushing up and out through the frame.
