The Anderton Boat Lift.

We are on a two day coach trip...one night away.

Today we visited The Anderton Boat Lift in Cheshire ( sadly it was closed for renovation).

 The Trent & Mersey canal and the River Weaver are at different levels, so The Victorians built a boat lift! Amazing!!!

We had an hour long boat ride along the Weaver...everything about the history of the boat lift was explained to us in great detail.

( The boat lift should be back in full working order before too long ).
