Anderton boat lift

I have wanted to see this in operation for some time 
 The previous time we were near it the whole facility was closed 
A coach trip which picked up in Cockermouth seemed like a good idea. Unfortunately it is not working again!
The boat in the collage is a steam tug stuck where it is because a bridge has been rendered inoperable by the extreme hot weather.
Blip has just told me that this is my 5000th entry. I hadn't realised and would have changed it but I am short of time.
