Common Comfrey

This perennial flowering plant known as comfrey gets it name from the Latin ‘ confervere’ meaning to heal.
Other English names for this plant is boneset, knitbone and slipper-root.
There’s a lot of folklore linked to this plant and the English herbalist John Gerard wrote comfrey in his book.
I have a several comfrey plants growing in my garden because the bees love it. From the leaves you can create a plant feed if you soak them in water and leave them to rot down.
