Getting it together

My darling daughter, a sarcasm ninja, opened this week’s call with "when is your iPad going to run out of battery and when will it fall over?" - which is, to be fair, what usually happens on our video calls. But this time I had been proactive and was fully charged and properly clamped so her barbs were blunted on the steel of my preparedness.

It was as ever good to catch up. She is heading off to Banf for a short break tomorrow which is a few hours east of where she lives in British Columbia. 

Our day was sluggish as it was muggy and the forecast downpours never showed up. We are up and off at the crack of dawn tomorrow, heading off to the Hay Festival for one night only, so will be early to bed this evening.,
