Hundreding

None of these people will sleep tonight. They are all participants in the LDWA Flower of Suffolk Hundred, which means that they are setting out to walk or run 100 miles in one go. For the walkers, that means two nights without sleep; the runners will probably only miss one. Many of the walkers are in their “third age” - one, the legendary Len Fallick is 82 and has already completed 42 Hundreds.

Sarah and Chris are running. We saw them set off in Ipswich, with a samba band playing as they left. They passed through Framlingham 30 miles later and looked pretty fresh. (See extra for them getting ready to leave)

I spent the rest of the day exercising the dogs and enjoying Framlingham, which has a festival this weekend. I looked around the beautiful church, bought some tasty food in the market and went to a couple of art exhibitions.

It will be time for bed soon, it’s dark outside, and 500 hardy souls are putting one foot in front of another.
