Unplanned

The last day or so, I (Chris) have had a lot more visible “debris” floating around in my right eye than usual. Since the surgery in 2021 and again in 2023 to reattach the retina, I’ve had a few “floaters” but this was way more than usual.

Rather than just ignoring it, I followed previous instructions and called eye casualty this morning and having looked at my history, they called me in for a look. On a weekday this (the blipped) bit of the hospital is overrun with patients but it was eerily quiet today…until I got upstairs to eye casualty. Anyway, after a bit of a wait, drops and scans, I saw a Dr who determined there was nothing serious to deal with as an emergency (so no obvious retinal problems) but assured me I’d done the right thing coming in. She suggested I had some additional laser treatment and that will be scheduled in due course.

Annie came and collected me, we were both relieved it wasn’t serious and this evening the eye seems to have settled down again, phew.
