Dog, man and snake…

This little old lady weenie dog is a character! She had killed about 18-19 snakes! She was bitten once by a venomous one but recovered well. She belongs to Js 86 yr old aunt who lives with her daughter and SIL about a mile from the house.
I got a call from an upset “Aunt Sister” saying her people were out of town and LILA had a snake bayed in the yard. The dog was determined to get the snake and Sister could only tell it was dark colored. I grabbed Johnny and off we went!
When Johnny walked toward the snake, LILA went into high gear, determined to grab it. J reached for the dog, there was a blur of movement then he yelled twice and drew his hand back quickly! I panicked. I knew he’d been bitten. Then he got the dog and laughed. It was a non venomous King snake. ( You want them around. They eat venomous snakes) He had been bitten ( nipped) by Lila, not the snake! :—)). She is one serious little snake huntress! And just the cutest little dog.
