A Different View

I decided to give the art classes a break, but instead bought myself an online class in Urban Sketching tutored by Ian Fennelly.  I have always admired his bold colours and quirky images, so thought I’d have a go.

However I’ve started with his free class which covers his basic techniques; very different to “normal” watercolour pen and wash.  

Here I am about half way through the workshop sketching part of the course, so it’s a bit of a mess and lacking tone and detail. I struggled the “quirkiness” of the buildings and this is the second try at drawing the outline … I’ve learnt a lot about perspective though!
