St Aldhelm is credited as being the founder of Frome, and his well has been "dressed" since 1985. This annual event always takes place on the Saturday nearest to 25th May, the day when the founding saint of the town, Aldhelm, is celebrated. 
A gate that's normally locked was wide open today, so we walked up the steps that run alongside the Via Crucis and found this delightful chap on the side of the church!
