Spring Pasque Flowers …
… Pulsatilla vernalis, or arctic violet or lady of the snows) are just coming out on the alpine ridges now but have been slowed down by the last snowfall and a cloudy day didn’t help them to open for us.
It’s exactly a year ago since our friend told us she had cancer and was about to be operated. (I blipped her recently on her first small summit.) We had just done today’s walk to see the Pasque Flowers on the way from Javerne to the La Tourche Hut. She has slowly been regaining her strength after chemotherapy and radiotherapy, determined to do this walk again exactly a year later. She did it in style, in her happy place again (extra).
Huge thanks for your enthusiasm for yesterday’s mountain blip too. I hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend.
