Calf
This morning I met up with G, JohnRH and W for a circular walk from Blakeney to Cley, calling in at the Wiveton Hall Cafe on the way back. The cafe has recently reopened and is now run by the Norfolk Tea Co. I wasn't that impressed, not a great selection of cakes and my hot chocolate cost £5.25. Except for the cows and calves, there were not many blip opportunities, largely as it was raining for about half of the walk (we got the 10% risk) and was incredibly windy. Still very nice to catch up with friends though, in spite of the poor weather. The sun did come out towards the end of the walk. Then G and I had a look around the monthly antiques fair.
This afternoon I've been watching Day 1 of the French Open. I've just watched an emotional tribute to Rafael Nadal after his retirement, and to give him an opportunity to say a proper goodbye after winning the French Open an astonishing 14 times. This was in the era of incredible rivals / legends in Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray (who all were there in person for him today). I can't see that achievement being beaten at any Grand Slam. It was nice to see the whole crowd wearing t shirts given to them in the colour of the clay at Roland Garros, which said 'Merci Rafa'.
