Low Tide

On the Orwell. I went for a stroll this afternoon just to get some air. I have been wondering what this semi circle of sticks is all about. They are covered at high tide. So I am wondering if it is/ was some sort of fishing arrangement - that nets would be strung over the sticks and as the tide goes out, the fish would be caught on the land side. Any other ideas anyone? 
This morning when I got up I noticed a puddle on the cabin floor. We traced this back to where there was a pipe in the deck. We put in some more mastic (not actually mastic but something similar. I cant recall the name) and are hoping for the best. Rain is forecast overnight so we shall see. We started a big clean up and have used up many floor wipes and elbow grease! It's looking better. This evening we had a Chinese takeaway for dinner. I've not had that for ages - crispy duck in pancakes, my favourite.
