Time Passing
My picture is a small celebration of MrsM's spring flowers - because by the time we see the garden again it will be summer. Today was full of lists; searching through drawers; projecting our imagination into future places, weather and activity, so that we can predict what we need. We are not going far, but it involves several different places and purposes
In between suitcases and backpacks, I have had time to spend with blip. The joy, and the problem, of it - for me - is that people are so interesting. The mention of a place, a word, a name, a bit of history, or economics or science sets me off on a trail of searching and questioning and thinking. Fantastic, of course, but it does mean I might forget my walking socks
By comparison, the world portrayed by the mainstream media brings a numbing combination of grey remorselessness and unimaginable horror, just as it does every day. The effect on my imagination is the opposite: closing down thought and engagement, reinforcing my sense of powerlessness and futility. That's not something I admire; the fault is all mine
One little story amused me. I track all my cycle rides and any new walks and keep them as plots on a map. I looked through them all to see if I had created any pictures. Through squinted eyes, there is one that looks a bit like a hand holding a revolver; another could be a gargoyle face
Must try harder
