54 and Thirteen

My birthday today and I have been thoroughly spoiled with favourite things. Jewellery, books, pretty things - some of which were crocheted and others ceramic - and a future trip to look forward to. A good lunch and I baked an apple Victoria sponge from my Hebridean Baker book which we had for tea. It has been blowing a hoolie all day but the forecast rain hasn’t materialised. Bailey has enjoyed some outdoor freedom but we kept an eye on him.

And I have also finished book number thirteen today. The fourth and final element book by John Boyne. I’ve enjoyed all four and the links between them and feel like this one rounded things off in a satisfying fashion.
