To the Area of Outstanding Unfinished Business*

An early rise & breakfast, we packed pannier bags and loaded up our steel horses. There had been some light rain in Cambridge but the sky was getting noticeably brighter so the going looked good.

We set off into the centre to find the River Cam before heading out to the West and into the countryside, both agreeing village by village that the surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. The first Meridian Marker (extra 2 top) was found in short time just outside Toft, and from there we headed south along Ermine Way, passing the entrance to Wimpole Hall which I mentioned over our intercom sounded familiar, and of course it did because a Blipfriend works there - @Gloriapatricia!

Further on (extra 2 bottom) we came to another at Meldreth, the road it sat on being called Fenny Lane and prompting a singalong of a Beatles song with title & lyrics modified accordingly. From there we continued to the third & final of the day near to the town of Ware. I say near, the narrow B road it sat on being frequented by fast traffic and flanked by overgrown hedgerows. We missed it at first but knew we were nearby after finding a Meridian Trail Marker sticker on a signpost (main blip). The marker this time was a cast iron post some 500 yards away and well hidden!

A quick snap of it (extra) and we was away onto A roads leading to the M25 just north of London, joining it in a clockwise direction and heading for the Dartmouth Crossing bridge. Exiting the motorway on the other side of the dirty old river and finding the cafe visited last year to be closed...of course...it serves a business park and today is a Sunday, but then it wouldn't be an adventure without a faux pas, and as we needed a few groceries a supermarket in Gravesend was patronised instead along with it's cafe for some Cheese on Toast & Cappuchoochoo.

The M2 took us over the Medway and soon after, the M20 on towards the direction of our destination in Folkestone, not before another diversion to last year's spot at Dymchurch to check on some stickerbombing. There we quickly cottoned on that a little train was due so we made our way to the station to watch two pass by in opposite directions (extra 3 top). They really are special!

Finally reaching Folkestone to find the cabin we have booked, even better was that it be sat in a beautiful garden with really nice hosts who originally come from 'oop north like us. After tea a stroll was had along the South Downs Way just across the road to find a viewing point for the Channel Tunnel, managing to witness a Eurostar passenger train, and two drive on/drive off trains - one for cars and the other for HGVs.

We are now relaxing, blipping & listening to Classic FM before Zzz.

* The title will make more sense tomorrow ;-D
