I suppose when you get to your 50s birthdays are more to be acknowledged than celebrated at least until you get to the point where you can breath a sigh of relief that you managed another one. Anyway, she's well into her 50s and with one child working and one in Dundee, presents were in shifts: early ones before Chris headed out to work and later ones when we'd all eaten after Ewan was down and Chris finished. In between there was a wander around Aberdour, dodging rain.
