Plas Newydd, Llangollen

I've been here before, but only for a wander round the gardens and a visit to the rather good cafe. Today, I did the tour of the house. Quite small, but full of the most amazing carvings. The residents in 1780,  Eleanor Butler and Sarah Ponsonby, certainly knew a thing or two about upcycling and created a Gothic fantasy within the stone walls. Previous visitors included William Wordsworth, Sir Walter Scott and the Duke of Wellington. Today's visitors included Americans, Poles and a few English.
