I spent most of the day doing housework - not like me at all but needs must. In the evening, we were supposed to have our book group meeting to discuss Held by Anne Michaels, but for various reasons, only three of us out of eight, could make it, so we went to the pub instead. We'll discuss the book at our next meeting. 
When we left the pub, it was raining - it hadn't rained for about five weeks.
