Trailed

Main news of the day is that we got Harris back from the vet, after three nights in for a urethral blockage. We were supposed to get him back yesterday, but he had another wee turn just after we arrived at the surgery, so got delayed by 24 hours. Home now though, a wee bit spaced out, but happy to have the big lump back where he should be. not ashamed to admit there were tears last night and this morning, with the vet definitely having been preparing us for possible bad news.

So I was able to enjoy setting up a stash of eggs for the local Pine Martens, after it turned out one of the chooks had been laying in a random secret cache in the barn. Just two hours after I'd left the eggs (far enough away from the house that I'm not encouraging them near, and beside a smeuse I know is used by them and the Badgers); this one was in and out over the course of the next hour, methodically and gently removing each of the 20 eggs.

I'm going to see if there's any routine, and if I can set myself up in a position where I won't disturb anything, but be able to get a photo, rather than relying on a screenshot from the trailcam... Stay tuned!
