MEMORIAL DAY
Our little village observes Memorial Day ON Memorial Day. The local chapter of the American Legion Post 424 prepares a nice, short service in the Walnut Grove Cemetery where several veterans are buried. Nothing drawn out...no politicians looking for a photo op and a chance to throw some syllables toward the crowd. Just a simple observance of remembrance of all the local veterans who have served their country in the military.

The traditional rifle volley was fired by members of Post 424 after which taps was played and the observers were dismissed in silence. It was very nice.
