Wall art...
Took this shot of ferns growing out our garden wall. They're probably not doing the wall any good but they're so pretty.
Morning of chores then after lunch we headed to our niece Jen's new flat so see it all finished.
We arrived at the same time as Ele and Kenny (D's sis and her mum and dad) which was just as well as D and I were about to head to the wrong flat! Well we've only been there once before :-))
Jen moved in two weeks ago and is feeling very settled. I can see why. She has turned it into a lovely home with a very peaceful, welcoming vibe. Makes you want to kick off your shoes and settle in.
We had coffee and cake there and then we all headed to Ele and Kenny's for dinner. They are in the middle of their own home renovation having recently removed the wall between the kitchen and dining room, which has opened up into a lovely large, much more functional space at the back of the house. Even though it's chaos at the moment, it looks fantastic and is going to be fabulous when it's completed.
Ele made a lovely dinner - melon and parma ham, chicken cacciatore with Jersey Royals, broccoli and peas with apple turnovers and cream for dessert. I avoided the cake and the dessert as I am trying to cut as much refined sugar from my diet as possible. Four days in and I can already feel the difference.
Headed home just after 10.30am. A lovely day.
