Whitethroat (Curruca communis)

A swim first thing and then a walk in local fields with the camera before the rain started.  Even then I was sheltering it from the first drops of rain before 10 am and by the time I was home it was pouring down. Poor L was riding in it and got soaked.

I use the Merlin ID app to identify which birds I can hear as I'm walking.  The app suggested this was a little chiffchaff, who was kind enough to pose for me before the rain started.

Thanks to David (RockArea), who has put me right as to the identification of this bird, which is a whitethroat.
