The True North

We have been holed up indoors all of today as it has rained, at times heavily, and the winds have been enough to blow your head off.  I chose to photograph the orchid in the lounge which has some rather unusual green tips.

I listened to the King giving the throne speech to mark the opening session of Canada's parliament. "The True North is indeed strong and free". The King had been invited by the new  Prime Minister Mark Carney who said the King's visit "underscores the sovereignty of our country" - a reference to Donald Trump's claims about making Canada the 51st US state.
