Who Ate All the Suet?
I put up this feeder at the weekend with Peckish Nuggets for the birds feeding their chicks, and hopefully some fledglings will visit too. It took no time at all for the greater spotted woodpecker to find it and stuff it's beak! I noticed when editing the photo that she has removed feathers to create a brood patch for incubating her eggs. I'd love to see a fledgling woodpecker. I've also spotted a greenfinch and a pair of goldfinches in the garden recently, new visitors for my garden. A dreary wet day today with 8.4mm of rain so far. I've being doing admin whilst following the tennis. A good day for the Brits, particularly Cam Norrie beating Medvedev (11th seed), Sonay Kartal beating Erica Andreeva 6-0, 6-2 and as a result moving into the top 50 and Jack Draper getting through an exciting match in 4 sets.
