Cuckoo....

Last week I booked a hide in Leeds to go and hopefully see a cuckoo. I did! Some years I get to see them around here, some years I only hear them. For much of my time in the hide this afternoon, I could hear the male 'cuckooing.' How lovely is that?! I was lucky enough to have 3 long visits from this bird...I took so many photos + of all the other birds. 

It was raining & grey, but no matter...a great afternoon was had. :) 

Extra - a view inside the beak of a cuckoo - who knew it was such a vibrant colour?
