Council Meeting and Forest Orienteering

Once again doing my democratic duty and being at the monthly council meeting. This is the view from inside the building, looking out to the rather impressive main entrance. It was 5 hours of mostly sitting, a long meeting and not one of the exciting ones.
Once it was over I decided I needed a good walk to get the kinks out of my body so I went looking for checkpoints in the summer orienteering activity I wrote about on my 18 May blip.  I found another 9 checkpoints and did around 13000 steps. The most frustrating point was one right next to the path. I looked and looked but it was nowhere to be found. I moved on and did a circle of paths picking up three more points and returning to the first one from a different direction. Then I realised I'd been slightly in the wrong place and found the point immediately, only 15 meters from where I looked the first time. I was a little over-confident about my map-reading skills. Oh well, I'll probably improve as I now have 16 points and there are another 134 to find!
