Sparky Corner

This time of year, we call this the “Sparky Corner.” This is our hay field, and the fescue grass is four to five feet tall. The farmer will soon cut this for hay, possibly this week. The reason I am blipping this is that back in the day, our black lab Kirby recognized this as a place to tout his sprinting ability. While on our evening walk, he would run ahead of us 30-40 yards, then sprint back like a thoroughbred around the corner. For whatever reason, his name became Sparky as he rounded this turn, all the while, we exhorted him with the calls, “COME ON SPARKY!” I think he loved the feel of the g pull as he rounded the corner, in his fastest ever sprint. I wish I could blip him doing that now. I can see him in this picture. Maybe you can too.
