5 Steps to Heaven...or...

Steps built into the wall of the Kirkton of Mailer Cemetery on a back road near Bridge of Earn. There are steps down on the other side. 

Whether it is three steps to heaven or the other place is another question.

Thankfully, there is a gate as well, so they did not have to heave coffins over the wall, although it looks like a very long time since anybody was buried here (see extras). It is certainly a very peaceful and beautiful place to be laid to rest.

I looked up the difference between a graveyard and a cemetery and, while the terms can be used interchangeably, graveyards are generally small burial grounds compared to cemeteries. So, despite what it says on the gate, this looks more like a graveyard than a cemetery.
