Fourteen
It's our 14th wedding anniversary today! As we'd given up on going out yesterday due to the weather, today we headed over to Solihull for lunch, and got rained on at every stage of the journey there and back during short showery bursts... GAH. The lunch was well worth it though; we shared some kabocha korokke (pumpkin fritters) and oshinko hosomaki (pickled radish sushi rolls) to share, then I had the pictured chicken katsu and Rich had wagyu donburi. It was all absolutely delicious; fresh, tasty, well cooked and seasoned. Honestly I would head back there again right now for the same again! After lunch, we popped to Hotel Chocolat & Waitrose to get choccies and bevvies for our anniversary tradtion of chocs, bubbly and an Irish (or Irish adjacent) movie. We both realised we don't actually like Prosecco or sparkling wine though, so this time we bought some fancy soft drinks, mandarin and seville orange jiggger and rose lemonade, and popped rum in them. The film, Intermission, was actually a little bit of a letdown despite featuring 3 actors I really like, so we're about to try a different one. Wish us luck!
