The Trail
The Trail by Ethan Gallogly is one of the most enjoyed books I have read in a long while. It’s a moving story showing how nature helps us find what is missing in our lives. It’s definitely more than just a hiking novel. It’s set in the High Sierra in California and is the story of two men along the John Muir Trail. It shows of the trials and tribulations and of the inner journey they both discover.
I enjoyed this book so much on my Kindle that I ordered the book itself to reread and to share.
On Wednesday, I met fellow Blip member KeenKen and his lovely wife in Lausanne, visiting Switzerland from New Zealand! We had a dry and mostly sunny morning to walk through the old part of town, up and down the three main hills on which Lausanne was built. The Cathedral of Notre Dame dates back to the 12th century.
After having a drink at one of the quaint cafés, we strolled through the busy streets to end up at the Coccinelle Café which I have posted about in the past. We had lunch there on the outside terrace. It was a really enjoyable day and when it started to rain, it was the perfect moment to go down to the art museum, near the train station, where I left my friends for the day to return home.
I’ve added my finished crocheted flower mandala doily on the table, next to the vase for which it was made.
This has turned into a pretty wordy entry!
