Kite In A Tree...

A Mississippi Kite that is! Spotted on our morning walk. I almost missed seeing her since she was way up in the tree and against a bright sky. I figured that she was 'just' a Red-shouldered hawk, but I took a couple of shots...just for fun. When I got home and took a look on the computer, I realized that it was actually a Mississippi Kite. These handsome raptors are Spring/Summer visitors to our area. They are arboreal hunters, much like the Swallowtail kites. This one was just resting peacefully. m
